Forming up the Garden level walkout.

I've added a snapshot of the blueprint below to help visualize what this is all about - a walkout area which will be underneath the deck that extends from the kitchen in the back of the building.  It provides egress, light, and air for the media room in this part of the house.

Looking at this 'approved' floor diagram, I am surprised both by how much refinement it went through when it was actually executed as well as how much remained the same.  The fireplace is gone, a wall removed, the kitchen cabinetry completely reworked.  The way the doors work on the back is changed, as well.  There is strong truth being told when people talk about how much work there is to be done, decisions to be made, plans to be done and re-done, when building a house.

The next few photos actually took place over the last several weeks.  This eastward facing side of the building had been covered by a wooden structure that housed back porches and stairs - and likely has not been exposed to the elements for 100 years or more.  All of the window and door openings are different than had been originally. There will be a deck that extends out from just below the middle doors/window, which will open into the kitchen.  A set of stairs off this deck will allow access to and from the backyard.
